Live Music at the Green

Join us this Friday, September 20 for a special Music Series event: Lullabies of Somber Souls featuring Simaek and Madame Blu. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the music begins at 6 p.m. L.O.S.S, or (Lullabies of Somber Souls), is Simaek's second album. Combining idioms of R&B, Neo soul, gospel, jazz, and classical music, Simaek explores the cycles of grief. Their husky baritone voice and melismatic runs capture the listener from track to track, evoking a tender sentimentality. L.O.S.S and Simaek's beautifully haunting melodies remind the listener that while grieving, it's essential to slow down, rest, reflect, and remember one's value. Featured artist Madameblu is 23 years old and based in the Twin Cities. Her music is a blend of pop, contemporary R&B and Neo soul. You can check her out at @madameblu on all streaming platforms. The North Loop Green Music Series is free to attend, and is family and pet friendly. Bring a blanket to spread out on the Green and be sure to check out Bassett Hound before or after for drinks and snacks.
